Reading this novel you wish you were a seventeen years old cowboy riding along the mesa; well twenty years old would do it too. Horses, Texas, Mexico, reckless boys and even romance in this border adventure dated about 1950 and full of prairie and desert, creeks, wind, sunrises, sunsets and most of all pretty, sweating, nervous, noble horses.
