The Waves - Virginia Woolf

The waves reaching the beach along the day from dawn to the becoming of the night. Meanwhile the voices of six characters talk about their feelings from childhood to old age. Not the usual narrative ways at all and a strong poetic touch. A serious attempt at the understanding of the human beings, a quite impossible task anyway.

Berta Isla - Javier Marías

Me gustan las novelas de Javier Marías, pero reconozco que en realidad es una sola que sigue y sigue. Aquí se repiten escenarios (Oxford, Madrid, Londres) e incluso personajes (Wheeler) y circunstancias: el protagonista trabaja para los servicios secretos británicos, como en "Tu rostro mañana" y también se rememora "El coronel Chabert", la narración de Balzac que aparece reiteradamente en "Los enamoramientos". El autor hace sus atinadas disquisiciones bien por medio de Berta Isla o de Tom Nevison, los dos protagonistas.

Rabbit Redux - John Updike

Ten years after "Rabbit, Run" Harry Angstrom seems to awake suddenly from a tedious life. Her wife leaves him and he gets involved with a white girl who had fled home and a black boy fleeing justice. There is also his 12 years old son, Nelson.  Those very days John Armstrong and his companions were heading for the Moon. The talented Updike tells the story in a direct, glittering way. It's been said to reflect the ordinary american life.

Airearen isla - Mikel Hernandez Abaitua

Idazlearen alter ego batek kontatzen du bere bizitzaren amodio istorio bat eta bide batez Pirineotan eta Venezian pasatako egunen kronika egiten digu. Baita operaz edo txirrindularitzaz zenbait zertzelada aipatzen dira. Puztutakoa iruditu zait beraz liburua, baina dena dela gustura irakurtzen da, agian protagonistak gure adinako gizon baten esperientziak dituelako.

Lágrimas en la lluvia - Rosa Montero

¿Spin off de Blade Runner?. ¿Distopía?. ¿Novela negra?. Pues de todo un poco. La replicante Bruna Husky va de acá para allá atormentada por su mortalidad y nos hace pensar sobre la ética, la memoria, el amor... o sea sobre la sociedad de ahora y la que viene y sobre nosotros mismos. Y se lee como una novela futurista de aventuras. Hubo una segunda parte.
