The Place Beyond The Pines - Derek Cianfrance (2013)

I wondered about the title and here's the explanation: It's the translation to english of Schenectady, the name of the city (loosely mohawk) where the action takes place. The story is a crime drama which expands along the years involving two generations. There's this cool guy, a motorcycle boy who gets into trouble as all motorcycle boys tend to do. The good point about him (and about the other main character, the officer, by the way) is that he's not good not bad, but something in between. Same as life itself.

Mejor Manolo - Elvira Lindo

Through The Windows - Julian Barnes

These authors of mine (Barnes, Coetzee, Auster...) are really prolific, you intend to read the last one and a new book comes along before you do. We've got here a collection of essays previously published in newspapers and magazines. First conclusion is the restatement that Julian Barnes is a wise man and plus he knows writing. These literary pieces turn upside down a series of writers and their books. To praise them on the whole.
