Moon Palace - Paul Auster
Although I had already read this book some years ago it has come to me by chance... and I have read it all over again. Chance, that is the key word if Auster is nearby ("the music of chance" is another book of his). This is some story. A young man in an inner travel to himself and to his past. And Auster finds the right expresion, metaphore or description required in each moment. The novel flows in a natural way so even the greatest coincidences appear logical in some strange way. I dare say that this is an initiation novel; M S Fogg tells us how confused he was (very confused indeed) and how he became wiser and at the end of the novel looks quite ready to begin his real life. Not that confusion disappears completely, but that's the way things are...
