Sleepless Nights - Elizabeth Hardwick

This is considered a novel and I don't know why. It's more of a kind of fragmentary patchwork. Some parts are autobiographical and others about people she met, with the starring appearence of Billie Holiday. The writing is powerful, sharp and brilliant.
