Books, indeed, but not the ones he wrote (a good number) but those other books he sold and mainly bought, because, above all, this is a memoir of McMurtry's lifelong work as a book dealer. Easy to read and entertaining, we learn about the people in the trade and enjoy plenty of anecdotes, although it's a pity there isn't much about his own novels.
