In The Shadow of Vesuvius - Daisy Dunn

A life of Pliny, it's the subtitle; but, which Pliny? the Younger mainly but the Elder is also here. The sources are The Natural History of the Elder and The Letters of the Younger. Thanks to that pulsion, of writing letters, we know quite a lot of things about Pliny (the Younger), but we can only imagine many others, time has not passed in vain. The book is enjoyable to read although the narration gets confusing at times.
