Miss Lonelyhearts - Nathanael West
An "expressionist black comedy" written in the thirties during the Great Depression and a classic novel nowadays. I haven't liked it (it's a short book anyway). Miss Lonelyhearts seems to have been a common character in the press and, as Elena Francis around here, in this case it happened to be a man, and a depressed man according to the times. Too expressionist, maybe.
