The History of Love - Nicole Krauss

But not really. I mean "A Story of Love" would have been a more fitting heading. The book named after the title is a MacGuffin, I guess. Anyway Krauss is a very talented novelist and the main characters here, old man Leo Gursky and young girl Alma Singer, are two endearing narrators. The background (the amniotic fluid indeed) is the jewish environment spanning from yiddish spoken east european grandparents to north american grandchildren. The plot if complicated is well woven and the ending is clever enough.
