A tale of folly and the most celebrated novel of Murdoch. Charles Arrowby is the fictional writer of his own experiences when he withdraws to an isolated house by the sea. His whole life seems to come to meet him through a number of old friends and lovers. We´ll learn later that not everything Charles writes ought to be taken at face value.
