Lessons of the Masters - George Steiner
First given as lectures in Harvard these lessons deal with teacher and disciple relationship along history. Or maybe it's about culture and education. Here we got a turmoil of names and ideas, Steiner being himself a master in comparative literature and in human knowledge in general. He reminds us of Plato, Dante and some others acute observers of human nature to whom we should come back (or just go in my case) now and then.
