I, Claudius - Robert Graves
Graves was not forty when he published, in 1934, this popular novel. And a very british one it is. He keeps on telling about regiments and colonels instead of legions and centurions and more significant Claudius, the supposed autobiographical author, writes with the most british sense of humour, Highly entertaining it confirms the Obelix saying, "These Romans are crazy".
