Walden - Henry David Thoreau
In a month it will be two hundred years since Thoreau was born, so I'm in time for the occasion. Walden is the name of a pond and the place chosen by the author to live by himself, in a little cabin he built, for two years and two months. Not so isolated really but enough to be able to tell about it. A simple life in peace with nature. The writing is brilliant, you feel yourself inside the tale. The owner of the land was his friend and mentor Ralph Waldo Emerson.
