Damascus Nights - Rafik Schami

The author was born syrian but wrote this in german, so I have read it in english (any logic?). It's very sad to think that there's war right now in this very Damascus. Here we travel back some fifty or sixty years and enjoy the tenderness of these stories which remind us of One Thousand and One Nights.
