A Manual for Cleaning Women - Lucia Berlin

Sparkling, lively account of a difficult life. Love, hate, places, sons and daughters, illnesses, working class and more appear in this selection of stories. Fiction, yes, but you cannot stop thinking that it's real life here, just with the sides rounded so they make better pieces of storytelling. And an important circunstance, item, I don't know how to name it, one of the worst problems in the US (and this planet in general): alcoholism. A plague that pass from parents to offspring.
