The Blind Assassin - Margaret Atwood

There's a novel inside a novel inside a novel here, a three step journey from fantasy to grim reality as it was around Toronto, in Canada, along the thirties in the past century. Not easy times for women, who weren't allowed to play main parts back then. The writing is pleasant enough but I've found the book overlong.
