Burning The Days - James Salter

James Horowicz was educated in West Point during World War Two and afterwards became a fighter pilot who serviced in Korea. He was still in the Army when he published a novel under this pen name, Salter.  Some forty years later an editor asked him to write about his life and here we are the result. Not an autobiography estrictly speaking, but a memoir about two subjects: His life as a pilot and the people he met as a screenwriter and novelist. And he's got a gift to do it.
