The Crossing - Cormac McCarthy
Billy sat his horse, spat and then touched the brim of his hat... Different cowboys but the same scheme in this second adventure of a trilogy that happens, as the first, mainly south of the border in old Mexico. Because "the crossing" is referred, I presume, to the crossing of that border. The time is the early forties. Apart from a pair of digressions the reading is easy and the dialogues fresh. Lot of spanish too in the middle and a kind of romantic sadness for a world that is no more.
