Humboldt's Gift - Saul Bellow
A Pulitzer winning book back in 1975 for an author with "a knack for stringing sentences together" in his own words put in the mouth of Charles Citrine his alter ego here. It's been confusing at the beginning but once I've catched the rhythm the story has become interesting. There's a turmoil of characters, lawyers, poets, family, lovers, friends and acquaintances and the recurrent turning to Citrine's considerations about life and death. All of this well humoured and better told.
