How to Write Like Chekhov - Anton Chekhov

Not that Chekhov actually wrote a book titled like this. These are excerpts edited and introduced by Piero Brunello, in the first Italian version, and Lena Lencek, in this second English one. But yes, the words chosen are from Chekhov, that true master of writing.

Cuentos verdaderos - Rosa Montero

Moby-Dick; or, The Whale - Herman Melville

I won't claim that it is an easy read or that I have absorbed all the juice the book has, but even without understanding every word, there is a kind of music that you waltz into as you read. How Should a Person Be? - Sheila Heti

Tarántula - Eduardo Halfon

Ficción, se supone, basada en la vida del autor; como todas las suyas. Su cosmopolita familia judía da para mucho. El talento narrativo y la brevedad de los textos también ayudan.

The Fraud - Zadie Smith

Historical novel about life in England in the 19th century; social classes, the status of women, the issue of slavery (including jamaican references), literary settings and a famous case of impersonation of a missing wealthy man. A certain Mrs Touchet is the common thread. Based on true events.
