Peculiar and monumental novel that aims to analyze human nature through a number of male and female, young and mature characters. Vienna is the place and 1913 the year. The ideas apply to nowadays, although it's not that I have understood them all. A tour de force for an amateur reader.

Ensayo general - Milena Busquets

Leí otro libro de Busquets y en este me parece que habla de lo mismo: su familia (su madre en especial), su vida afectiva y su relación con los libros y la escritura. No lo hace mal. Aprecio una tendencia a las enumeraciones.

A selection of essays chosen from the large amount of the genre written by the author. It's been a little surprising, to me, that the overall tone is humorous. Assertive and vigorous writing all along.

Habilidosa novela que se adelanta a su tiempo. La narradora es la misma escritora que rememora sus propias experiencias familiares al hilo de una visita misteriosa inspirada por un grabado de Lutero conferenciando con el diablo. 

The Professor of Desire - Philip Roth

David Kepesh, that is, Philip Roth himself, is the professor, and "desire" is the main theme of the novel. He was in his forties at the time and tells us about his experiences and his thoughts, up to that age, on the matter with his usual irony and wit.

Knife - Salman Rushdie

Meditations after an attempted murder is the meaningful subtitle. What the fatwa didn't achieve this frustrated attempt has got. That is to say: people's sympathy towards Rushdie. Here he narrates in a very understandable way the attack and its consequences and his thoughts about it all. My support for him even if he gets a little cheesy in the romantic quarter.
