Gente que ríe - Laura Chivite

Cuentos relacionados por medio de uno de los personajes. Me ha gustado en especial el narrado en imperativo. Comienza con una distopía y luego retrocede en el tiempo y se va haciendo realista. Prima la originalidad y no sé si era necesario.

A Lost Lady - Willa Cather

She was a fascinating woman in the eyes of young Niel Herbert, as was her house and its surroundings in Sweet Water, Nebraska. Then time and life dismantled the whole thing. It's been said to be a precedent for The Great Gatsby. Willa Cather was a wonderful storyteller.

Aquellos muchachos - Alberto de la Rocha

El narrador de la novela es Fernando, el chófer y ayudante personal de un famoso director de orquesta de apellido alemán. También fue de alguna forma uno de aquellos muchachos. Esa voz narrativa atrapa, es todo un hallazgo. Nos cuenta el declive de su patrón y su propia historia.

Brighton Rock - Graham Greene

A 1930s thriller with a faith issue attached. Some things are weird today (a bottle of vitriol, really?) and verisimilitude is hard to accept. The dialogue is great and the atmosphere of Brighton is adequately reflected. The rock is not a rock but a candy.

Cayo Hueso - Oihane Amantegi Uriarte

Bitxia da eleberri labur hau, ez du ematen pertsonaietako inor euskalduna denik. Halako fantasia bat da zinema klasikoko film baten modukoa. Cayo Largo dator gogora. Maitasuna omen da gaia eta gauza handirik gertatzen ez bada ere emakume libre baten aurrean gagozela dirudi.

Aniquilación - Michel Houellebecq

El título lo dice todo: en opinión del autor el mundo en general y cada ser humano en particular se van al garete, aunque no todo es negativo en esta novela. Tiene su parte de distopía (estamos en 2027), de thriller político y de drama familar. Como escritor Houellebecq me parece un maestro. Hay un macguffin. 

Love is a Dog from Hell - Charles Bukowski

You can bet he didn't give a damn and wrote down whatever came to his mind. It seems he just needed to write poems as much as he needed to drink or love (fuck), so check this out.
