This is sharp prose, here we can observe relationships and feelings and learn from them.

Al hilo de su libro anterior, o sea al hilo de la batalla del Ebro, Cercas vuelve a la novela pura y dura. La trama negra no difiere de otras del género, lo que me ha gustado es la escritura en sí y el retrato sociológico que nos ofrece. Se me hace extraño que solo haya una referencia de pasada al idioma catalán.

A recurrent character is one Faith (Grace, Faith, you've got it?), jewish, two children, absent husband and concerned with racial, gender and class issues.

Novela corta, última que publicó en vida la autora. Protagonistas, la "nordestina", Macabea, y el narrador, un tal Rodrigo. Torrente de frases resplandecientes llenas de verdad. Cuenta lo que ya sabemos aunque pasemos los días sin querer verlo. Y que en el fondo todos somos iguales. Hay que leerlo dos veces por lo menos.

"Faster" es una canción de George Harrison, que resulta que era un gran aficionado a las carreras de coches. Aquí, contando con George y con Juan Manuel Fangio se habla de una amistad forjada en la adolescencia en torno a la música y a las letras. Artistas invitados "Los Shakers", tremendo grupo uruguayo que emulaba a los Beatles.

A former male painter and his two female relationships plus a fourth man constitute the plot, which unfolds in an uncertain moment that may be the future or a slightly different past, dystopian matter.
